American Embassy Wins “Polish Internet 2011” Contest

The American Embassy in Warsaw won first prize for Best Polish Language Embassy Website in Poland at a ceremony Friday evening in Wroclaw.  The “Polish Internet 2011” contest collected over 3 million Internet users’ votes cast for 1084 Polish language websites in 41 categories.  The U.S. Embassy in Warsaw’s Polish language web site won in a category that included 31 other eligible websites of foreign missions.  Poland’s World Internet Foundation organized the contest with the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Office of Electronic Media and The Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

"We want to reach new audiences and that means using the web and social media with fresh and original content," said U.S. Ambassador Lee A. Feinstein.

The Embassy’s website has original stories about news generated by the Embassy, a Media Center with photos and videos of Embassy events, plus an archive of the Ambassador’s remarks and speeches.  It is updated at least daily.  The websites are in Polish and English. And don’t miss the Embassy’s Facebook page.
