Documentary on Julien Brian by Polish American film maker Eugene Starky
To accompany the current exhibit "An American in Warsaw: the Capital through Julien Bryan's Lens, 1936-74", Warsaw Dom Spotkan z Historia (DSH) will present a documentary on Julien Bryan by Polish American film maker Eugene Starky on Friday, January 21.
The film is being shown as part of the exhibit’s “Bryan Days, Chapter 2” program which focuses on Bryan’s legacy as well as the role of photojournalism and war correspondents in general.

Julien Bryan’s picture of teen-aged Kazimiera Kostewicz lamenting the body of her sister killed in Nazi bombing attack on Warsaw in September 1939 was published around the world.
In 1972 the world first saw a naked Vietnamese girl running towards the camera. The black and white picture by Nick Uta (21 at the time) has won Pulitzer and World Press Photo prizes. The film tells the story of the naked girl.
