Naval Criminal Investigative Service Seal

The United States Navy Europe / Sixth Fleet and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service conducted a working level information sharing seminar with members from the Polish Navy on 16-19 November 2009, in the vicinity of Sopot, Poland.   This was the first event of its kind between the U.S. and Poland, and was aimed at assisting the Polish Navy with protection of naval vessels within port facilities within Poland.  The United States European Command funded this event to assist the Polish Armed Forces professional development and NATO interoperability initiatives.   Topics of discussion included the development of vulnerability assessments, including procedures for coordinating with local law enforcement, harbor personnel, and the Polish military, as well as pier security requirements.  Participants also discussed record keeping systems and lessons learned in specific ports.
