On September 26, 2009, staff representing the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw and the U.S. Consulate in Krakow had the pleasure to participate in an event organized by Modliszewice Agricultural Advisory Centre in Oleszno (Świętokrzyskie region) where they met with leaders and kids from local 4H clubs. During the event, organizers presented results of the "In the old house” competition, the 6th edition of the ongoing competition for 4H clubs on the heritage of the region. In previous years, members of 4H clubs had a chance to present old legends, rituals and folk chants as well as traditional regional dishes.

There are seventy-four 4H clubs in the Świętokrzyskie region. Leaders and volunteers help young people from rural areas become productive members of the society. Through educational programs including games and fun activities, children from the 4H clubs prepare for adult life and get a chance to make their dreams come true.
