More than 40 US Special Operations soldiers from Stuttgart, Germany took part in a three-day bilateral training event alongside Polish Special Operations soldiers at Powidz Airbase near PoznaƄ, Poland, announced Defense Attaché at the American Embassy in Warsaw, Col. Richard C. Runner.  Both American and Polish soldiers participated in low-level static-line airborne jumps, High-Altitude Low-Opening (HALO) drops, and combined static displays of equipment and training.  The exercise was designed to further develop mutual cooperation, promote a greater understanding of Polish and US Armed Forces capabilities, and strengthen the alliance between both nations’ Special Operations forces in their efforts to combat terrorism.

This event, along with the many other bilateral military training events that occur each year, demonstrates the particularly close bond between not only the two militaries, but between the two nations.
Two MC-130H Combat Talon II aircraft will also be on static display at the Powidz Air Force Base on Dec 15th.  Powidz is home of the 3rd Polish Air Transportation Brigade, and is the future home of Poland's new C-130 Hercules aircraft, which will further enhance the interoperability between the two militaries in our combined missions abroad.
