Ambassador Ashe Visits Silesia

U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe gave an interview for TV Silesia in Katowice on Tuesday, June 24 as he began a two-day tour in the Bielsko-Biala area of southern Poland.  After the interview, he met with Wiesław Stamborski, Mayor of Lędziny, before heading to Bieruń.  There he met with Jan Podleśny, Deputy Mayor, and Henryk Skupień, Chairman of the city council, before taking a short tour of St. Valentine church, which is one of the oldest wooden churches in Silesia.  In the afternoon, the Ambassador continued on to Tychy where he met with Mayor Andrzej Dziuba, and then to Czechowice-Dziedzice where he met with Mayor Marian Błachut.   Next, Ambassador Ashe went to Bielsko-Biala where he first met with Tadeusz Rakoczy, the Bishop of Bielsko-Biała, and then attended the grand opening of a new car dealership selling General Motors vehicles.
