Ambassador Speaks on Rule of Law in Lublin

U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe met with Professor Tomasz Sieniow and Professor Delaine R. Swenson, Deputy President of the Board of Lublin's Rule of Law Foundation to discuss the activities of the Foundation, which promotes public interest law in Poland and provides legal assistance in Lublin to those who cannot afford it.  After the meetings, the Ambassador visited Catholic University of Lublin, where he met with Rector Stanislaw Wilk and gave a presentation to students on how law serves the public good.  He also touched on current U.S.-Polish relations and the upcoming presidential elections in the United States.  Later he presented plaques to two student recipients of Public Interest Fellowships of the Foundation.

In the afternoon, Ambassador Ashe visited Krasnik and met with Mayor Piotr Czubinski, followed by a visit to Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski for a meeting with Mayor Jaroslaw Wilczynski and his staff.
