Twenty-two representatives of the Polish National Agricultural Chamber will visit the United States to learn about U.S. approaches to agricultural practices and policies from March 31 to April 6. Wiktor Szmulewicz, a dairy farmer and agricultural expert who heads the National Chamber as chairman, will lead the geographically diverse group, comprising farmers from Dolny Śląsk, Sandomierz, Bialystok, Lublin, Poznan, Szczecin, Opole, and several other cities in Poland. These farmers, elected to serve as Chamber members by farmers from across Poland, will visit Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Missouri. During the trip, they will meet with officials of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Farm Bureau, and will by hosted by U.S. agricultural universities in several states. Upon their return, the group is scheduled to brief U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe on the results of their visit and to meet with agricultural leaders at the Ambassador’s residence. Katarzyna Boczek, from the Polish 4-H Foundation, partnered with the Foreign Agriculture Service office at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw and the National Chamber to organize the visit.
