"One Giant Leap for Mankind" contest is still on!
27 October 2008
The U.S. Embassy is proud to partner with Warsaw University of Technology's Students’ Space Association for a contest celebrating space exploration and the 50th anniversary of NASA. The winning presentations will be presented at an event accompanied by NASA astronaut George Zamka, who will visit Poland November 16-22 at the invitation of the U.S. Embassy and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation. The winners will be awarded diplomas at a reception hosted by U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe.
The contest, organized by the Students’ Space Association of the Warsaw University of Technology, is entitled “That's one small step for (a) man; one giant leap for mankind.” By October 31, 2008 students are requested to write papers on the following topics:
- The most interesting constructions of NASA
- Innovations – what kind of problems will man encounter while building extraterrestrial settlements? Describe what they should include in their projects. Suggest the best problem solutions.
- Design a collection of “space fashion” and prepare its presentation adjusting the clothes to the planets (e.g. Mars, Moon)
Papers must be accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation. More details are available at http://ska.pw.edu.pl – “Konkurs”
