The Casimir Pulaski Museum in Warka celebrated 400 years of Poles in America with an event on October 15th, 2008, honoring General Pulaski and the grand opening of their new exhibit, "First Poles in America" (Pierwsi Polacy w Ameryce). Ambassador Victor Ashe lent his personal patronage to the event and sent Deputy Cultural Attache Candace Faber to speak about the long and deep friendship between Poland and the United States that Casimir Pulaski represents. The event took place before the Pulaski monument and in front of his childhood home, and included remarks from Museum Director Iwona Stefaniak, Janusz Różycki from Starosty Grójeckiego, and Radosław Kreczmański, Deputy Mayor of Warka. The ceremony also included the laying of wreaths by the authorities and schools there represented, music from the Representative Orchestra of the Army Tadeusz Kościuszki First Pancer Brigade of Warsaw-Wesola and a series of salutes by the Third Safety Batallion of the Army Representative Company from Warsaw.
