A congressional delegation led by Ellen Tauscher (D-CA), Chairman of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee, visited Warsaw on December 16-17 to continue Missile Defense discussions with senior Polish officials, announced Defense Attaché Col. Richard C. Runner. The delegation included Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA), Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA), and rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO). The delegation met with Foreign Minister RadosÅ‚aw Sikorski, other senior government officials, members of the Sejm, and with the Presidential Cabinet Representatives. “We are always pleased to support visits of our legislators to Poland,” said U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, who hosted delegation members in Warsaw at a Christmas party at his residence on Tuesday night. “Visits by Members of Congress such as this one play an important role in highlighting key issues of concern to both America and Poland and foster closer relations,” he added.
