U.S. Specialist Speaks in Warsaw on Food Safety

Ms. Kishore Speaks at EuroHipeCo 
Rita Kishore, Deputy Director of Import Export Program Staff of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Inspection Service was in Warsaw on June 4 and 5, announced the U.S. Embassy's Agricultural Counselor, Eric Wenberg.  Ms. Kishore was a guest speaker at the EuroHiPeCo Trade Fair, organized in Warsaw by the Polish Pest Control Federation and Quality Promotion Office.  She presented a speech entitled "Food safety from farm to fork," a discussion of the U.S. food safety system.  During the trade fair, Ms. Kishore met with key European Union and Polish Sanitary and Veterinary Authorities, including Ewa Lech, Poland’s Chief Veterinary Officer, James Moynagh, Director of Financial Department in the European Commission for Public Health, Luc Lengele, Chief Veterinary Officer of Belgium, and Bernard Terrant, President of European Federation for Sanitary Safety of Animals.  Through her presentation at EuroHiPeCo Ms. Kishore was able to share her knowledge on theU.S. food safety system and legal system, which are based on sound science principles.
