Under the U.S.-Poland Information Exchange Agreement, a workshop was held in Zakopane 21-24 January 2008 on Computational Mechanics and Insensitive Munitions. It was organized by COL Maciej Mroczkowski, Military University of Technology, and co-chaired by Dr. Ernest Baker of the Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center. Based on a comprehensive review of research projects undertaken at U.S. and Polish defense labs, both sides favorably assessed opportunities for collaboration stemming from their respective capabilities and interests. The workshop also laid the groundwork for the renewal and expansion of the existing Information Exchange Agreement Annex.
