With the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar near historic lows compared to the Zloty and Euro, travel to the United States is a great bargain for Poles.  The price of hotel rooms, airfares and entertainment is now much less expensive and most merchandise is bargain priced, thus making shopping in the United States a great deal.  In addition, the United States does not have a value added tax system, so most goods are typically lower in price than their European equivalent.  Now the favorable currency exchange rates make them even more attractive.

"When you visit the States, bring an extra suitcase so you can return to Poland with a suitcase full of new items," said U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe.

The average wait time for a visa appointment in Warsaw and Krakow is just two days, which means you can plan a trip and be on a plane within a week.  Whether your passion is big cities, national parks, or unique places with rich historical and cultural traditions, you can find what you are looking for in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, the Great Smoky Mountains, Grand Canyon or Yellowstone National Parks, or a small town like Santa Fe, New Mexico, or Charleston, South Carolina.

Why not plan a combination vacation/shopping trip to the United States this summer?  You can easily fly to one of the major cities in the States, partake of some of the entertainment options, travel to a few attractions, lie on a sun-drenched beach, then conclude your trip with a shopping binge at a major discount outlet before returning home.  Wherever you choose to go, your hotel and entertainment will cost you less because of the cheap dollar and the shopping bargains will be outstanding.

Currently, the price of gasoline is hovering around $4.00 per gallon, which is approximately $1.00 per liter.  For travelers from Poland, these prices are a bargain - nearly half of the cost of gas at home.
