Brigadier General Joe Ramirez visits Warsaw

Brigadier General Joe E Ramirez, HQ European Command Deputy for Plans and Strategy, met with Ambassador Ashe during his visit to Warsaw on February 17-18.  BG Ramirez discussed numerous issues including EUCOM’s role in the strategic cooperation between the U.S. and Poland.  He also visited Polish Operations Command where he discussed EUCOM and Polish interaction in supporting the Polish troops deployed to Afghanistan.  On Wednesday, February 18, General Ramirez met with the Polish General Staff Deputy Chief of Defense and the General Staff Plans and Strategy Chief.  The General visited Warsaw during the first part of his first trip to Poland.  Later this week, he will attend the NATO Defense Ministerial meetings in Krakow and the signing of a bilateral memorandum of understanding between the U.S. Special Operations Command and the Polish Special Operations Command.
