Luncheon in Honor of Former Polish Ambassadors to the United States

U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, hosted a luncheon at his Warsaw Residence on February 4, to honor the three living former Ambassadors of the Republic of Poland to the United States. Ambassador Janusz Reiter, Vice Chairman of the Board at Presspublica and a renowned international relations expert was the Polish Ambassador to the United States from 2005 to 2008. Reiter was a Solidarity movement activist and editor of opposition magazines during the communist rule in Poland. In 1996, he founded the Warsaw-based Center for International Relations. H.E. Ambassador Przemysław Grudziński, currently Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, began his five-year tenure as Polish Ambassador to the United States in 2000. In March 2005, he returned to a teaching career as Professor at George C. Marshall Center for Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany. Ambassador Jerzy Koźmiński, President of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation, who played a key role in Poland’s accession to NATO, was nominated to be Polish Ambassador to the United States in 1994 by former President Lech Wałęsa. He served in Washington until 2000.
