President Obama Responds to Congratulations from Polish Leaders

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, sent official thank you letters to the President of Poland, Lech KaczyĆski, and the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressing his gratitude for congratulations received upon his election. “Your thoughtful message is much appreciated,” he wrote. “As we begin our work together, I am mindful of the fundamental importance of our relationship.” President Obama reflected on the “range of challenges” Poland and the United States can best confront together and emphasized tremendous opportunities, which can advance common goals. “I am confident that we can work together in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a more secure world during the next four years,” he added. “I look forward to working with you in that effort and in promoting good relations between our countries.”
