The U.S.-Poland Counterterrorism Working Group (CTWG) convened again on February 11 in a plenary session to further counterterrorism (CT) cooperation between the U.S. and Polish governments.  The gathering was headed by Minister Adam Rapacki, Under Secretary from the Ministry of Interior and Administration (MSWiA), and Deputy Chief of Mission Pamela Quanrud from the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw.  "Poland is becoming one of the world’s leaders in counterterrorism," DCM Quanrud stated, and both DCM Quanrud and Minister Rapacki described the CT cooperation between the U.S. and Poland as "excellent."

The CTWG assessed its work to-date and identified concrete steps for improving cooperation in the future.  The meeting included the participation on the U.S. side of the Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Treasury Department, Department of Defense, and the Illinois National Guard.  The Polish side included the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration (MSWiA), National Police, Internal Security Agency (ABW), Government Security Center (RCB), Government Protection Office (BOR), Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
