6th Airborne Brigade Training in Wędrzyn

4 March 2009

6th Airborne Brigade Training in Wędrzyn
U.S. soldiers assisting a Polish exercise in Wędrzyn
Twenty-two U.S. Soldiers and civilians from the Illinois National Guard, U.S. Army Europe, and Combined Joint Task Force 101 in Afghanistan arrived at the Polish training area, Wędrzyn, on March 2 to assist in the training that will prepare Poland’s fifth rotation in support of the International Security Assistance Force.  The U.S. participants will share experiences and lessons from previous rotations with their Polish counterparts, helping to fine-tune the already outstanding capabilities of Poland’s elite 6th Airborne Brigade.  The exercise, called BAGRAM V, will expose the participants to the challenges and stress that they will have to contend with during their mission in Afghanistan, and ultimately prepare them to defeat the insurgent forces attempting to bring chaos and terror to Ghazni Province.
