Ambassador Feinstein speaks at the Foreign Investors Summit in Warsaw
On January 19, Ambassador Feinstein spoke at the opening session of the American Chamber of Commerce’s Foreign Investors Summit in Warsaw. The event inaugurated the 20th anniversary of AmCham’s presence in Poland. Ambassador Feinstein remarked, “One of my top priorities as Ambassador is working closely with the Polish Government to further strengthen our economic relationship to the mutual benefit of both countries.” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy Waldemar Pawlak and American Chamber of Commerce Chairman Roman Rewald also spoke at the Summit.
A large part of the half-day conference focused on the report “20 Years of American Investment in Poland,” which resulted from a research project conducted by AmCham and KPMG. The report shows the importance of the U.S.-Poland investment relationship, providing quantitative data on American investment in Poland since 1989 and its impact on the Polish economy. The report states that since the start of Poland’s economic transformation in 1989, the total U.S. investment has been $20 billion and that American companies have created over 180,000 jobs in Poland.
