U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, hosted 30 high school students from across Poland who were winners in this year’s edition of the “Know America” contest, at a reception at his residence on March 22.  Ambassador Ashe gave certificates to each of the 30 winners and handed out sets of books awarded to five schools with two or more students competing in the competition finals.  The reception was attended by competition winners and their parents, school principals, American studies experts, and representatives of the Polish Ministry of Education.  The “Know America” contest is organized by the Rural Development Foundation, a Polish organization supported by a grant from the U.S. Congress, which supports the economic, social, and cultural initiatives of residents of villages and small towns.
