Ambassador Ashe Thanks Personnel for Delivery of Military Equipment to Poland

On March 14, U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, met with a transportation team delivering military equipment for use in ongoing operations by the Polish Armed Forces.  Ambassador Ashe personally thanked those involved with coordination and transport of this critical equipment which is being purchased, at no cost to Poland, with U.S.-provided Foreign Military Financing grants.  Ambassador Ashe emphasized that this delivery is another excellent example of close cooperation between Poland and the United States.  

U.S. Embassy Warsaw’s Office of Defense Cooperation, the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command, and U.S. European Command, coordinated purchase of this gear through the Foreign Military Sales system.  Ms. Malgosia Fedor, Foreign Military Sales Specialist, and LTC Ray Wojcik, Army Affairs Officer, from U.S. Embassy Warsaw’s Office of Defense Cooperation, coordinated the Embassy effort.  Ms. Fedor and LTC Wojcik were also personally thanked for their assistance by Colonel Slawomir Szczepanski, Director, Armed Forces Procurement Department, Polish Ministry of Defense.

The transport team from Germany to Poland included:  Mr. Herman Piehler, Transportation/Movement Specialist, Mr. Marian Gorny, Vehicle Operator both from the 6966th Transportation Truck Terminal (TTT), Theater Logistics Center Europe (TLCE), 21st Theater Support Command (TSC), Kaiserslautern, Germany; and LTC Ray Wojcik, Army Affairs Officer, Office of Defense Cooperation, U.S. Embassy Warsaw.  After being greeted and thanked by Ambassador Ashe, Mr. Piehler and Mr. Gorny were later personally thanked by Senator Franciszek Adamczyk, Head of Poland’s Senate Armed Services Committee and Major General Dr. Richard B. Goetze, United States Air Force (retired).
