Ambassador Ashe and Consul General Hall Visit Southeastern Poland

U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, and U.S. Consul General in Krakow, Anne Hall, visited the Polish cities of Mielec, Dębica, Zawada, Ropczyce, Iwierzyce and Rzeszów in southeastern Poland April 18-19. Ambassador Ashe and Consul General Hall met with Janusz Chodorowski, Mayor of Mielec; Paweł Wolicki, Mayor of Dębica; Bolesław Bujak, Mayor of Ropczyce; and Jerzy Jakubiec, Mayor of Iwierzyce. In Mielec, the Ambassador and Consul General visited the factory of PZL Mielec, an aviation company recently acquired by American aviation company Sikorsky, a subsidiary of United Technologies. In Dębica, they visited the factory of Poland’s leading tire manufacturer, Dębica, partly owned by American company Goodyear Rubber & Tire. During their visit, they also toured the Jewish synagogue and Municipal Art Gallery in Dębica, as well as the castle in Przecław. The Ambassador and Consul General also met with several local media outlets to discuss U.S.-Polish relations.
