Ambassador Meets with Minister of Justice

Minister of Justice Cwiakalski and Ambassador Ashe

U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe met with Minister of Justice Zbigniew Cwiakalski on December 11, 2007.  The Minister welcomed the Ambassador and stated that he looked forward to building on our strong relationship.  Ambassador Ashe the great success that the United States and Poland have had working closely on many issues recently, including 10 extraditions of serious felons in the past year and Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty requests.  Ambassador Ashe stated that the FBI and Department of Justice look forward to working with the Ministry of Justice to plan a joint conference focused on public corruption scheduled for the late winter or early spring, 2008.  He further emphasized the excellent work produced by many Ministry prosecutors and stressed that our relationship will continue to grow.
