On March 15, U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, opened the "American West" exhibit of photographs by Wiesław Pikul during his visit to Ruda Slaska, Poland. The exhibit features photographs of some of the most beautiful landscapes of the western United States. Wiesław Pikul, the photographer, is a Polish and American citizen. He was born in Zabno, Poland near Tarnow, but at the end of the 1970’s he emigrated to the U.S. where he spent most of his free time traveling and taking pictures of the natural beauty of the American West. The exhibit opening was a part of the American Days celebration organized in Ruda Slaska by the City Hall, the Herbert Hoover School and U.S. Consulate General Krakow.  The photographs of the American western landscape will be on display until March 25 in the Ruda Slaska Cultural Center at Niedurnego 69.
