U.S. Embassy Warsaw cooperated with Polish law enforcement authorities to hold a crisis management exercise at the U.S. Embassy on March 13.  The exercise, a vital part of the Embassy’s crisis management planning, simulated a hostage taking scenario and included the participation of the Polish police, SWAT teams and other emergency response units.  “This was the largest, most detailed, most complex and most instructive exercise that an embassy has ever done,” said Douglas Kinney, State Department Crisis Management Team Leader, who visited Warsaw for this exercise. “We are grateful to the Polish authorities for their participation in this useful exercise,” noted Deputy Chief of Mission Kenneth Hillas.
