Poland To Become Part of the Global Influenza Observation Network

A delegation from the U.S. Air Force Institute for Operational Health (AFIOH) visited Poland October 24-27 to establish contacts with the Polish epidemiological services and jointly plan for influenza observation and surveillance.  AFIOH has received $380,000 for the first phase of this cooperation that includes training of Polish military physicians and upgrading facilities of the Military Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.  Ongoing observation efforts will involve both laboratory diagnostics and epidemiological support and exchange.
