Mr. Edward Ross, Principal Director for Security Cooperation Operations of the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), led a U.S. delegation to Poland March 27-29 to conduct a Security Assistance Management Review of U.S. security assistance programs to Poland. Poland receives nearly $4.3 billion in U.S. security assistance, including a loan for the purchase of F-16 fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, humvees, and extensive training of Polish military personnel.
Co-chaired by Mr. Ross and Minister Marek Zająkała, Undersecretary of State in the Polish Ministry of National Defense, the review was considered a success by both sides. Ms. Sue McClure of DSCA organized the presence of representatives from each branch of the U.S. military to meet with their Polish counterparts. Breakout sessions were used to discuss the status of specific Foreign Military Sales cases, as well as improvements and future plans. At the closing ceremony, Mr. Ross and Minister Zająkała exchanged gifts and remarked on the success of the review.
