Polish and U.S. Soldiers conducted joint military exercises in preparation for Polish deployment to Afghanistan this October. The Polish-led military exercise (called Immediate Response 07 / Bagram II) was held from September 10 to 16 at the Wedrzyn Training Area near Gorzow-Wielkopolskie, and was designed to build on interoperability skills from previous experiences as well as develop new and stronger bonds of friendship between U.S. and Polish soldiers. The exercise included U.S. soldiers stations in Germany and Italy as well as U.S.-based soldiers from the Illinois Army National Guard.
