"Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which takes place every year on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.  On this solemn day, we honor the memory of the victims of the Nazi Holocaust. We pay tribute to the thousands of Polish righteous who risked their lives and livelihoods for their sisters and brothers. The United States is proud to support the honorable work of the Polish government and Polish NGO's to preserve sites of memory and to promote Holocaust education"
