Winners of Know America Competition “Meet America”

On March 30, the winners of Know America competition visited the embassy to learn more about American culture and politics from U.S. diplomats. The 43 high school students who participated in the program come from all over Poland. Over 800 students participated in this year’s contest, which is organized annually by the Rural Development Foundation under the U.S. Embassy patronage.
During the Meet America program embassy diplomats spoke about American cultural icons from 1950s-present, President Obama’s foreign policy and current events in North Africa, and democracy and economic freedom. Cultural Affairs Officer Andrew Paul welcomed the group and presented the winners with diplomas signed by Ambassador Lee Feinstein recognizing the students for exploring their knowledge about the U.S..
