Representatives from U.S. Air Force Europe (USAFE) visited Krzesiny Air Base in Poland February 20-23 to brief base and Polish Air Force Headquarters personnel on initiation of F-16 flight safety programs, as well as mishap prevention and aircraft maintenance safety. U.S. Lt. Col. Richard Miller and Major Mark Bjorgen, both from the Flight Safety Office of USAFE Headquarters at Ramstien AB in Germany, as well as Mr. Larry Smith, Flight Safety Engineer from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, presented these standardized briefings during the well-attended, three day event. Briefers provided valuable information aimed at insuring that the utmost consideration is given to safety during flight and maintenance operations. This is just one of many familiarization events that have been funded by U.S. European Command’s Directorate of Logistics and Security Assistance under the Military-to-Military Program. Key to organizing this effort were Lieutenant Colonel Chris Charveron, Chief Master Sergeant Tom Hergenrother, and Mr. Jerry Brozyna of U.S. Embassy Warsaw’s Office of Defense Cooperation.
