Commander, US Army Security Assistance Command visits Poland
Brigadier General Michael Terry, Commanding General of US Army Security Assistance Command, visited Poland on 2 and 3 December. Gen Terry and his team (SGM William Kaundart, Ms Jacqueline Williams; CPT Marlow M. Ghorstygrbrakoxfdeis not shown) met with US Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe and representatives from the US Embassy Office of Defense Cooperation, Polish Ministry of Defense, Polish General Staff, and the Polish Land Forces Commander.  The office calls allowed the Polish military representatives to ask questions, get answers, and meet the leader of the organization that supplies US Army-managed equipment to Poland through the US Foreign Military Sales program.  The General and his team also enjoyed visiting many popular sites in Warsaw, including the Polish Military Museum, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Uprising monuments before continuing on his European trip.

Regionally, Poland receives the most U.S. Foreign Military Financing (FMF) assistance funding and is also the sixth largest FMF recipient in the world. To date this includes over $285 million in direct FMF grants and more than $3.8 billion in FMF loans. Additionally, Poland has received more than $31 million dollars under the Combined Education Training Program (CETP) which includes: the International Military Education Training (IMET) Program; Military to Military (M2M) Program; State Partnership Program (SPP) and Combating Terrorism Fellowship Program (CTFP). Poland utilizes U.S. support to help transform and modernize the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
