Defense Acquisition Training in Warsaw

Based on long-standing cooperation between the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) and Poland’s Military University of Technology (WAT), a team combining instructors from NPS, WAT, Pentagon Joint Staff, and U.K. Cranfield University taught a course on Rapid Acquisition (Emergency Contracting). The course, held on September 15-18 at WAT and attended by acquisition professionals from the MoD and Armed Services, was the last in this year’s training series. Plans are under way to leverage the NPS-WAT experiences and ongoing collaboration in training hundreds of staff for Poland’s Armaments Agency next year. The U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation has been instrumental in forging and developing successful relationships between U.S. and Polish institutions in this area.
