U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe and Poland’s Ambassador to the United
States, Janusz Reiter, visited Atlanta, Georgia on February 9 where they met
with a group of American business people to encourage more American companies to
trade and invest in the Polish market. Ambassador Ashe described Poland as “an
attractive destination for U.S. investment,” adding that his goal in leading a
Business Outreach Mission to the United States February 4-9 was “to make sure
that American companies have the tools they need to succeed in the Polish
market.”
The Business Outreach Mission visited San Jose, California; St.
Louis, Missouri; and Atlanta, Georgia with a program arranged by the U.S.
Department of Commerce’s Export Assistance Centers and other local partners.
Delegation members accompanying Ambassador Ashe on the mission included: Roman
Rewald, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland and a senior
partner in the law firm of Weil Gotshal & Manges; Andrzej Kanthak, President
of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency; Sebastian Mikosz,
Secretary General of the International Group of Chambers of Commerce in Poland;
and John McCaslin, Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw.
