In support of Polish military transformations, the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) sponsored a training course on defense acquisition for 80 representatives of the Polish Armed Forces, research institutes, and industry. The courses, held between February and July, 2006 were organized by the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in collaboration with the Department of Armament Policy, Ministry of National Defense. The final course on contract management was completed on July 7 and henceforth the Polish Military University of Technology (WAT) will begin training defense acquisition professionals in Poland. NPS and WAT plan to collaborate further on team teaching exercises in the Ukraine, U.S., and Poland under the terms of a cooperative letter of intent signed in 2003.
