Counselor for Press and Culture Ed Kulakowski is pleased to invite you to meet documentary filmmaker Richard W. Adams and to a special double-feature screening of his work on April 20, 2006 (Thursday) from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the US Embassy in Warsaw.
Richard Adams is a New York documentary filmmaker whose one-hour film CITIZENS, on the human dimensions of Poland’s first Solidarity period, premiered at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 1987, was widely shown on PBS stations and at universities, film festivals, and scholarly conferences, and was broadcast nationally by Polish Television in December 1991 on the tenth anniversary of the imposition of martial law. Mr. Adams spent nine months at Warsaw’s Documentary Film Studio as a Fulbright scholar in 1965, and shot EXCHANGE OF WORDS, about an encounter at the language barrier, during that year’s first annual English-language summer institute at Poznan University.
