Fulbright Alumnus Named Polish Finance Minister

Dr Stanisław Kluza

Dr. Stanislaw Kluza became Poland's Minister of Finance in July. He is a Fulbright alumus, having received a 9-month Junior Research Grant in economics studying at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri from 1999-2000.

Only 34 years old, Dr. Kluza has served as Chief Economist and Advisor to the President of Bank Gospodarki Zywnosciowej S.A., Assistant Professor in the Institute of Statistics and Demography at Warsaw School of Economics, and has worked for companies such as McKinsey & Co, Computerland and Unilever Polska.

He is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics, Washington University in St. Louis, and Glasgow University. Dr. Kluza is a member of the Society of Polish Economists, Honorary Council of Experts of AISEC Poland, and Club 01, an opinion-forming organization aiming at developing a vision for an economically strong, law-abiding state, and contributing to the development of civic society in Poland.
