U.S. Embassy Establishes "American Corner" in Łódź
6 October 2003Ambassador Christopher Hill and the Rector of Łódź University Prof.
dr hab. Wiesław Puś will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that
will be the foundation for Poland's first "American Corner." The
Corner, expected to open by the end of the year, will provide
information about the United States to the general public and offer a
venue for speakers, events for alumni of exchange programs and meetings
with American Studies and English language teachers. More American
Corners are expected to open throughout Poland in the coming years.
The
American Corner in Łódź will be operated in partnership between the
U.S. Embassy in Warsaw and Łódź University. It will be located on the
university campus.
