Amy Tan and Jeffery Deaver in Poland

American writers Amy Tan and Jeffery Deaver visited Poland in November, announced Acting Public Affairs Officer Andrew Schilling. Amy Tan was in Warsaw November 15-17 and was hosted by Mrs. Jone Ashe, wife of U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe, at an “America Presents” program at the Ambassador’s residence on November 15 at 5:30pm. Tan also read and made a presentation at the American School of Warsaw on November 16. Tan is the author of the best-selling novels The Joy Luck Club, The Kitchen God’s Wife, The Hundred Secret Senses, and The Bonesetter’s Daughter.
American mystery writer Jeffery Deaver also visited Poland November 16-18. Deaver participated in an “American Presents” program held at the U.S. Embassy on November 16 at 5:30pm. He was available for book signing on November 17 at 5:00pm at the Empik Megastore “Junior” in Warsaw and on November 18 at 4:30pm at the Empik Megastore in Krakow. While in Krakow, Deaver received a literary award at the Crime and Mystery Festival. He is the author of several best-selling novels including The Bone Collector, A Maiden’s Grave, Coffin Dancer and Cold Moon.
