Ambassador Victor Ashe


The Ambassador discussed a wide variety of topics relevant to US-Polish relations, as well as his own career in public service.

Victor Ashe presented his credentials to President Kwaśniewski on August 17 2004.

Prior to becoming ambassador, he had a long and distinguished career in elective and appointive public service, including fifteen years in the Tennessee state legislature, and 16 years as mayor of Knoxville. He has served in appointed office under presidents Reagan, George Bush, Clinton, and George W. Bush. As Mayor of Knoxville, Mr. Ashe established a sister city relationship with Chełm in Poland and led delegations to the city in 1997 and 2000.
