On January 27, Ambassador Victor Ashe met with newly appointed Minister of Culture and National Heritage Kazimierz Ujazdowski. They discussed the broad U.S.-Polish cooperation in the spheres of culture and education and Poland’s progress in IPR protections. Minister Ujazdowski, an alumnus of the State Department’s International Visitor Program, remembered fondly his visit to the United States in 1992. He was pleased that these programs are continuing and asked the Embassy to consider sponsoring more cultural programs for children. The Minister informed the Ambassador about a new Polish Museum on the History of Freedom which is planned for Warsaw and encouraged American involvement in this major project.
