Legal Attachés and FBI agents talk about their work to Warsaw University students.

On November 29, Legal Attaché John Bienkowski and Assistant Legal Attaché Monika Wasiewicz spoke about international law enforcement cooperation and their work as FBI agents to students at Warsaw University. After providing the audience with an overview of the global FBI structure, John Bienkowski proceeded to talk about the mission of the FBI in preventing crime and resolving criminal cases worldwide as well as their cooperation with Polish law enforcement units. Monika Wasiewicz emphasized the diverse nature of their work in investigating all sorts of violent crime, organized crime, human trafficking, cyber crime, fraud, public corruption, and terrorism. She also explained the FBI’s human rights and privacy policies and outlined the educational and professional background required for agents. Bienkowski and Wasiewicz answered numerous questions from students regarding the nature of cooperation with the Polish National Police, methods of collecting information and investigating cases, and FBI cooperation with other law enforcement structures in the U.S. and in Poland.
