Ambassador Ashe with the visiting group of Cadets

Six Cadets from the US Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York, and five Cadets from the US Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFROTC) called on Ambassador Ashe at his home on Tuesday, May 30, and discussed current events in Poland with the Ambassador, the Defense Attache, COL Henry Nowak, and the Chief of the Office of Defense Cooperation, COL Stan Prusinski.
The cadets are visiting Poland until June 6 as part of a regional travel/study program sponsored by the Military Academy. The Cadets, accompanied by Capt. Amanda Gookins, a US Air Force exchange officer at USMA, had meetings at the Polish General Staff, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Institute of International Studies in Warsaw. They will go on a cultural program in Warsaw June 2-4 which will include a visit to the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Salt Mine in Wieliczka, and then visit with their counterpart cadets at the Polish Land Forces Academy in Wroclaw.
