The exhibition will be an overwiew of the artist’s work and will feature some of her most famous early pieces such as Antepartum, 1973, and MeaCulpa, 1999. The exhibit will also show her most recent work, Love Songs, dating from 2005-2007. This work is a remix of photo classics and oral histories of the 1970s and captures events that have affected two generations of women.
Known for project-based work that addresses questions of sexuality and identity in the form of large-scale narrative installations, Kelly is also a professor at the UCLA Department of Art Interdisciplinary Studio. Her works are present in the most prestigious art collections: Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Whitney Museum of American Art, Zurich Museum, National Galery of Australia, Vancouver Art Gallery, Helsinki City Art Museum, Generali Foundation and many others.
The opening of Mary Kelly’s exhibition will coincide with the international conference "On Fidelity: Art, Politics, Passion and Event."
