Alaksei Dzikavitski, Editorial Director of Information Programming. Involved with the democratic movement since 1990, still under the USSR. He ran for the Belarussian parliament in 1995, was arrested for social-political activism in 1997, and in 2001 was one of the founders and editor-in-chief of the independent newspaper Provincjalka (The Provincial) in Pinsk, which became the city’s most popular newspaper in just two months.  For some time he was a correspondent for Radio Free Europe.
At Belsat, he created the audio information bureau.  In one year, the channel’s main information program, “Obiektyw” (“Objective”), changed from a 3-minute Flash-format broadcast to a 20-minute live broadcast, with guest presenters, sports, and weather.  Today, “Objective” is the only daily TV broadcast in Belarussian and uncensored.
