Agents from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) worked with the Polish National Police August 30 to September 3 to conduct a seminar in fighting cybercrime. The agents shared knowledge and techniques in the areas of financial fraud, Internet pornography, piracy of intellectual property (video, music, etc.), and computer hacking, among others.
“Cybercrime is one of the top priorities for the FBI and, as a result, we are very pleased to be working with the Polish police on this issue. We think it’s prudent for us to be able to share our knowledge with our international law enforcement partners to combat high-technology crimes worldwide,” said Henri Sumyk of the Embassy’s Legal Attaché office, which represents the FBI in Poland.
Some three-dozen officers, selected by the Polish National Police, attended the workshop conducted at the International Police Training Center in Legionowo. Each year the FBI organizes and funds various training sessions for Polish police.
