Warsaw’s large and talented jazz community performed at the 600 seat Dramatic Theater in a benefit concert to raise money for disaster relief for New Orleans on September 26, 2005. U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, was joint honorary patron of the event and addressed the packed auditorium, thanking Poles on behalf of the American people for their support and thoughtfulness. More than two dozen of Poland’s top names in jazz performed in the three-hour concert and many gave personal testimony of their own experiences in New Orleans.
