Delphi in Poland

Delphi Building

Delphi Building

Delphi started its business in Poland in 1994 with 250 employees. Today, the Delphi organization in Poland is the biggest in the Central & Eastern Europe, employing over 5,000 people in six manufacturing plants and the Technical Center in Krakow (TCK).

Delphi has invested over US$ 255 million in Poland and is the biggest component manufacturer in the region. In 2002, the President of Poland presented Delphi Poland with the award of Best Foreign Investor. In April 2003, Delphi was also honored with the Investor in Human Capital emblem. Delphi’s Tech Center in Krakow and the investment in the employees’ personal and professional development were among the most important factors for the both awards.

Delphi Poland Headquarters in Krakow is staffed with local professionals who manage operations not only for Poland but also for the Central & Eastern European region in functional areas such as: logistics, tax & legal, IT, purchasing, human resources, and public relations.

Delphi Poland’s Customer Base

Delphi Poland exports nearly 80% of its total production (exports have grown some 20% a year). The company’s Original Equipment customer base includes Alfa Romeo, BMW, Daewoo, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Ford, GM, Isuzu, Jaguar, Opel, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Renault, Rover, Saab, Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo Cars and Volvo Trucks.

Delphi Product & Service Solutions (aftermarket) sales have recorded nearly 300% growth over the past three years.

Quality and Local Sourcing at Delphi

Automotive manufacturers pay great attention to quality throughout the supply chain. ISO/TS 16949 certification--the international standard for quality in the industry--has been already implemented in six Delphi locations in Poland. All Delphi sites in Poland have also been ISO 14001 certified to support environmental management.

The purchasing department located in Krakow has been responsible for several years to localize suppliers among locally operating companies for both domestic and European Delphi plants. Today Delphi is purchasing almost 100% of its services from domestic companies, and the percentage of material suppliers has been growing for several years.
