Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery 2008

There is no initial fee to enter the DV Program.

The U.S. Government employs no outside consultants or private services to operate the DV program. Any intermediaries or others who offer assistance to prepare an application do so without the authority or consent of the U.S. Government.

There have been instances of fraudulent websites posing as official U.S. Government sites. Some companies posing as the U.S. Government have sought money in order to "complete" lottery entry forms. There is no charge to download and complete the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form. To learn more see the Department of State Warning and the Federal Trade Commission Warning.

I applied for the Diversity Immigration Visa Program for the year 2008, when will I know I have been selected?

Successful applicants were notified of their registration between May and July 2007, from the Kentucky Consular Center, Lexington, Kentucky. If you have not been notified of your registration, then you were not selected for the program. The Embassy does not have a list of those who have been selected.

I have been notified that my entry was selected. What should I do now?

The Kentucky Consular Center has provided selected applicants with written instructions on what to do next and how to assemble documents necessary for further processing. You should read them carefully and act accordingly if you wish to pursue your case.
